over the weekend, but warned to \u201cexpect some issues with select U-M systems and services in the short term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ravi Pendse, the university\u2019s chief information officer, wrote in a notice <a href=\"https:\/\/umich.edu\/announcements\/\">on the university system\u2019s website<\/a> that he expects remediation efforts to be resolved \u201cover the next several days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn true Wolverine fashion, faculty, staff and students rose to the occasion and met the challenge to ensure continuity of our mission,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>University leaders opted to shut down internet access and many of its online services after detecting a \u201csignificant security concern\u201d on Sunday, just ahead of the fall semester\u2019s first week of classes.
