The spokesperson noted that the White House is urging the Senate to \u201cquickly confirm\u201d Coker as the national cyber director.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored to be asked by the president to lead my colleagues as the acting national cyber director,\u201d Dudley said in a statement. \u201cI look forward to continuing to implement the national cybersecurity strategy and supporting this administration\u2019s continued efforts towards building a secure and resilient cyberspace that is aligned with our values,.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Dudley continued: \u201cThe hard work taking place across this organization will continue apace while we await Mr. Coker\u2019s confirmation. I, along with all of my colleagues, am grateful to acting Director [Kemba] Walden for her leadership and wish her well in her next endeavor.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad--inline_1 \">\n<div class=\"ad__inner\"> <span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Advertisement<\/span> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Walden took over as the acting director shortly following the departure of Chris Inglis, ONCD\u2019s inaugural director, and oversaw the <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/national-cybersecurity-strategy-chris-derusha\/\">implementation plan for the national cybersecurity strategy<\/a> as well as a workforce and education strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate Homeland and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/harry-coker-national-cyber-director-nomination\/\">advanced Coker<\/a>, a former National Security Agency executive director and CIA officer, for vote on the Senate floor following an <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/national-cyber-director-hearing-harry-coker\/\">uneventful nomination hearing<\/a>.
