The Cloud Security Alliance released the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) v5, the latest version of its vendor-neutral, cloud security training and certificate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Designed for security analysts, compliance managers, security engineers, architects, and administrator, the CCSK offers training in topics including cloud incident response, application security, and data encryption, and is widely regarded as a benchmark for demonstrating cloud security knowledge and skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cprogram provides a survey of the most important topics cybersecurity professionals will face day in and day out and is complementary to virtually any other education available,\u201d the CSA said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>CCSK v5<\/a><\/span> is a \u201csubstantial update to <\/span>CCSK v4<\/a><\/span>,\u201d and includes in-depth information, recommendations, and best practices to secure cloud architecture, cloud native security, workloads, virtual networking, data protection, DevSecOps, zero trust, and generative AI, according to CSA. The CCSK is wide-ranging, covering serverless\/function-as-a-service, application security, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI\/CD), automation, identity and access management, and incident response.<\/span><\/p>\n

CSA published the Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus in Cloud Computing v5, which provides the source material for the CCSK v5. Students have access to a variety of training modules, the <\/span>CCSK v5 Prep Kit<\/a><\/span>, an online self-paced option (which can be completed in 10 hours), as well as instructor-led classes. The exam for the CCSK v5 is 120 minutes long, compared to the older program’s 90 minutes. It is expected to cost $445 and the fee is waived for veterans, according to the CSA.<\/span><\/p>\n

The CCSK v5 includes \u201cvital information\u201d about managing risks, achieving compliance, optimizing organizational cloud security strategies, and understanding the shared responsibility model between the cloud provider and customer. CSA also included the generative AI tool CCSK Orb into CCSK v5.<\/span><\/p>\n
