(Getty Images) <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"single-article__content\">\n<div class=\"single-article__content-inner has-drop-cap\"> <html readability=\"20.842696629213\"><body readability=\"42.566083283042\"><\/p>\n<p>There are some things money can\u2019t buy; for Mastercard, the cybersecurity firm Recorded Future wasn\u2019t one of those things.<\/p>\n<p>The financial payment behemoth announced Thursday that it reached an agreement to acquire the threat intelligence company for $2.65 billion, representing a major expansion of its cybersecurity services. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRecorded Future adds to how we deliver that greater peace of mind before, during and after the payment transaction,\u201d Craig Vosburg, chief services officer at Mastercard, said <a href=\"https:\/\/investor.mastercard.com\/investor-news\/investor-news-details\/2024\/Mastercard-Invests-in-Continued-Defense-of-Global-Digital-Economy-With-Acquisition-of-Recorded-Future\/default.aspx\">in the announcement<\/a>. \u201cTogether we will innovate faster, create smarter models and anticipate emerging threats before cyberattacks can take place \u2014 in payments and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recorded Future is a well-known intelligence firm that boasts more than 1,900 clients internationally, including 45 governments and over half of Fortune 500 companies, Mastercard noted.
