readability=\"41.006480558325\"><\/p>\n<p>The cybersecurity firm Sophos agreed to acquire Secureworks in an all-cash transaction valued at $859 million, the two companies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secureworks.com\/about\/press\/sophos-to-acquire-secureworks\">announced Monday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sophos, a privately owned United Kingdom-based cybersecurity firm, said it intends to integrate security solutions for all small, mid-sized and enterprise customers focusing on automated prevention, detection, and response using artificial intelligence. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecureworks\u2019 renowned expertise in cybersecurity perfectly aligns with our mission to protect businesses from cybercrime by delivering powerful and intuitive products and services,\u201d Sophos CEO Joe Levy said in a statement. \u201cThis acquisition represents a significant step forward in our commitment to building a safer digital future for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Secureworks is an Atlanta-based cybersecurity firm that was founded in 1999 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secureworks.com\/about\/press\/48310\">acquired by Dell in 2011<\/a>. With the Sophos deal, shareholders for Secureworks and Dell will receive $8.50 per share in cash, according to the announcement. The transaction is expected to close in early 2025 and the two organizations will continue to operate as \u201cindependent companies and it is business as usual,\u201d Secureworks CEO Wendy Thomas said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secureworks.com\/blog\/to-our-customers-and-partners\">in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad--inline_1 \">\n<div class=\"ad__inner\"> <span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Advertisement<\/span> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Thomas said she expects Sophos\u2019 end-to-end security products and experience as a managed security service provider will complement Secureworks\u2019 extended detection-and-response expertise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSophos\u2019 portfolio of leading endpoint, cloud, and network security solutions \u2014 in combination with our XDR-powered managed detection and response \u2014 is exactly what organizations are looking for to strengthen their security posture and collectively turn the tide against the adversary,\u201d Thomas said.<\/p>\n<p>Sophos was founded in 1985 and <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/03\/02\/thoma-bravo-completes-3-9b-sophos-acquisition\/\">purchased<\/a> by the private equity firm Thoma Bravo in March 2020 for $3.9 billion.
