announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He will become executive assistant director of cybersecurity at the agency in a role that\u2019s seen swift turnover in the past year. It\u2019s a position that has, in the past, led CISA efforts on protecting federal civilian agency networks and protecting critical infrastructure against cyber threats.<\/p>\n<p>Andersen is <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/trump-cybersecurity-second-term-white-house-cisa\/\">a veteran<\/a> of the first Trump administration, where from 2019 to 2021 he served in the Department of Energy\u2019s Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response division as both the principal deputy assistant secretary and performed the duties of assistant secretary.<\/p>\n<p>Andersen most recently worked as president and chief operating officer at Invictus International Consulting, a firm that bills itself as \u201ca full-spectrum cyber company that fuses data science and intelligence to deliver advanced technological and analytical solutions required for our national defense.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad--inline_1 \">\n<div class=\"ad__inner\"> <span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Advertisement<\/span> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>He fills a role <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/karen-evans-steps-into-a-leading-federal-cyber-position-executive-assistant-director-for-cybersecurity-at-cisa\/\">previously announced<\/a> for Karen Evans early in Trump\u2019s second term, before she departed shortly after for <a href=\"https:\/\/fedscoop.com\/karen-evans-dhs-cisa-trump-administration\/\">a nomination<\/a> as undersecretary for management at the Department of Homeland Security and then <a href=\"https:\/\/subscriber.politicopro.com\/article\/2025\/06\/top-cisa-appointee-karen-evans-moves-to-fema-00398588\">shifting over<\/a> to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Chris Butera has been serving in the role as acting executive assistant director since, and will now assume the role of acting deputy executive assistant director.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Goldstein was previously in Andersen\u2019s role for <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/departing-top-cisa-official-reflects-on-nearly-four-years-in-the-cyber-hot-seat\/\">nearly four years<\/a> under President Joe Biden before leaving in the summer of 2024.
