(Photo illustration by Cheng Xin\/Getty Images) <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"single-article__content\">\n<div class=\"single-article__content-inner has-drop-cap\"> <html readability=\"30.499069767442\"><body readability=\"63.258620689655\"><\/p>\n<p>Apple\u2019s latest operating systems for its most popular devices \u2014 iPhones, iPads and Macs \u2014 include patches for multiple vulnerabilities, but the company didn\u2019t issue any warnings about active exploitation. <\/p>\n<p>Apple patched 27 defects with the release of <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/125108\">iOS 26 and iPadOS 26<\/a> and 77 vulnerabilities with the release of <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/125110\">macOS 26<\/a>, including some bugs that affected software across all three devices. Apple\u2019s new operating systems, which are now numbered for the year of their release, were published Monday as the company prepares to ship new iPhones later this week.<\/p>\n<p>Users that don\u2019t want to upgrade to the latest versions, which adopt a translucent design style Apple dubs \u201cliquid glass,\u201d can patch the most serious vulnerabilities by updating to <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/125109\">iOS 18.7 and iPad 18.7<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/125111\">macOS 15.7<\/a>. Most Apple devices released in 2019 or earlier are not supported by the latest operating systems.<\/p>\n<p>None of the vulnerabilities Apple disclosed this week appear to be under active attack, Dustin Childs, head of threat awareness at Trend Micro\u2019s Zero Day Initiative, told CyberScoop.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad ad--inline_1 \">\n<div class=\"ad__inner\"> <span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Advertisement<\/span> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Apple previously issued an <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/apple-zero-day-ios-macos-ipados-august-2025\/\">emergency software update<\/a> to customers last month to patch a zero-day vulnerability \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nvd.nist.gov\/vuln\/detail\/CVE-2025-43300\">CVE-2025-43300<\/a> \u2014 that was \u201cexploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals,\u201d the company said in a series of updates for iOS, iPadOS and macOS.<\/p>\n<p>The company has addressed five actively exploited zero-days this year, including defects previously disclosed in <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/apple-security-update-zero-day-january-2025\/\">January<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/122174\">February<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cyberscoop.com\/apple-zero-day-patch-march-2025-cve-2025-24201\/\">March<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/nvd.nist.gov\/vuln\/detail\/cve-2025-31200\">April<\/a>. Seven Apple vulnerabilities have been added to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency\u2019s known exploited vulnerabilities catalog this year. <\/p>\n<p>Unlike many vendors, Apple doesn\u2019t provide details about the severity of vulnerabilities it addresses in software updates.
